Lamont Dozier, a pioneer of Motown, passed away at age 81. The performer contributed to the creation of a number of The Supremes’ top-charting songs, including (Baby Love and “Stop! In The Name Of Love).

On Tuesday, August 9th, his son Lamont Dozier Jr. posted a picture of them with the caption, (Rest in Heavenly Peace, Dad,) to share the heartbreaking news. However, It has not yet been determined what caused the death.
The performer was a member of the songwriting trio Holland-Dozier-Holland, which is credited with helping to create the Motown sound of the 1960s.
In his lifetime he married twice however, Barbara Ullman Dozier was his current wife when he made his departure. Elizabeth Ann Dozier happened to be his ex-wife.
