Kyliegh Curran is an American actress who was born on December 10, 2005 in Miami, Florida. Harper was a character in the Disney Channel mystery series Secrets of Sulphur Springs and the horror thriller Doctor Sleep. She previously appeared in a Broadway version of The Lion King as a young Nala. Whittington B. Johnson, a Bahamian-American writer and scholar, is her maternal grandpa.
She began attending acting classes when she was seven years old. She relocated to New York City for work. Curran attended an Actors’ Playhouse Conservatory near Broadway during the first and second grades.
After being unable to discover film-related jobs in Miami and New York, Curran enrolled in the British Academy of Performing Arts in Marietta, Georgia, and the Renaissance International School of Performing Arts in Milton, Georgia. As part of her preparation for a profession as an actress, she is homeschooled.
Madeline’s Christmas was Curran’s debut performance in Coral Gables, Florida. She was cast as Young Nala in Julie Taymor’s Broadway production of The Lion King when she was ten years old. She received her first film role in 2015, in the indie film I Can I Will I Did, which was released in 2017.
