Ky-Mani Marley is a Jamaican singer and musician who was born on February 26, 1976.
His name, which derives from East Africa and means “Adventurous Traveler,” He is the sole offspring of Bob Marley and Jamaican table tennis champion Anita Belnavis. He was nominated for a Grammy in 2001 for his album Many More Roads.

In Falmouth, Jamaica, Ky-Mani Marley was born to reggae icon Bob Marley and champion Jamaican table tennis player Anita Belnavis. Ky-Mani and Belnavis moved to Miami, Florida at the age of nine. Since athletics were his first love as a child, Ky-Mani was not aware of his musical talent. He took piano and guitar lessons at his mother’s urging and played trumpet in his high school band. He participated in both American football and soccer as an athlete.
Ky-Mani started rapping and deejaying while he was a teenager. The song “Unnecessary Badness” was his debut hit. When requested to perform the chorus to a song during a recording session at a Miami recording studio, he was motivated to pursue singing.
