Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur yesterday lost out to South African artiste Sjava at the BET awards in the Viewers Choice Best New International Act category.
After weeks of endless support and campaign by top Ghanaian celebrities and public figures for the “Grind Day” hit-maker to win the coveted award, the D-day came yesterday June 24.
Kwesi Arthur who had earlier flown into Los Angeles with a few friends, CEO of Menzgold Nana Appiah Mensah, Becca, and Stonebwoy had high hopes of winning the award especially after the hugely impressive way Ghanaians backed the young rapper, flooding his pages with encouragement and voting endlessly.
But at the end, it was not to be as a fellow nominee from South Africa Jabulani Hadebe, better known by his stage name Sjava won the award.
Without showing any signs of disappointment, Kwesi Arthur took to Twitter to tell fans;
How can I lose when I came from nothing.

He may not have won the award, but his stunning rise from grass to grace is sure to be something to look up to.
