A tragic incident occurred on the Kumasi-Accra highway on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, resulting in the death of a police officer. The officer lost his life after crashing his motorbike into a stationary truck.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the policeman was chasing an errant motorcyclist when the accident happened. He was seen gasping for breath and raising his left hand in a supine position, calling for help before succumbing to his injuries.
The stationary truck had developed a fault, and the driver and his assistant were working on it when the police officer collided with it. After the accident, both the driver and the assistant left the scene.
The identity of the deceased policeman is yet to be established, as investigations into the tragic event are ongoing.
