On March 5, Kristin Bjorklund, who was the co-executive producer of “Family Feud” for 40 years, passed away. 67, she was.

Bjorklund had been on the waiting list for a kidney transplant for a long time, and after having surgery on March 2, she got an aggressive infection from the incision.

Bjorklund started her career at Goodson-Todman Productions after attending Dartmouth. Bjorklund joined “Family Feud” in 1982, where she spent the next 40 years. The producer won an Emmy Award in 2019 for her work on the series, which had more than 2,000 episodes.

“Kristin Bjorklund was my coworker, my buddy, and my sister from another mister,” wrote co-executive producer Brian Hawley of “Family Feud.” Hawley continued, “When my life was in disarray or my house was falling apart, I called Kristin.

“As beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside, Kristin was known for her smile that lit up a room, her kind heart, her deep empathy toward everyone she knew, her endless generosity, and her contagious laugh,” Kayley Hamilton, a close family friend, added.

Bjorklund was born on July 8, 1955, in Mineola, New York, and grew up with her parents, Virginia Marie Johnson and Paul Robert Bjorklund.

Erik Bjorklund, her nephew, and Annika Bjorklund, her niece, both survive her.
