Kim Victoria Cattrall, a British-Canadian actress, was born on August 21, 1956.
In Liverpool’s Mossley Hill neighbourhood, Kim Victoria Cattrall was born. Dennis Cattrall, a construction engineer, and Gladys Shane, a secretary, are her parents. When she was 11 years old, her grandmother was unwell, and she went back to Liverpool. At the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, she took acting tests.
She was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards and five Emmy Awards for her portrayal of Samantha Jones on HBO’s Sex and the City (1998–2004), for which she won the 2002 Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. In Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2, she played the same part once more (2010).
After relocating to New York City and completing her schooling at Georges P. Vanier Secondary School, Cattrall started her career in 1972. She graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and signed a five-year contract with the director Otto Preminger. In the action thriller Rosebud by Preminger, she made her acting debut (1975).
