Lame now has 142.7 million more followers than D’Amelio, who has 142.3 million.
Khaby joined the platform in March 2020, when the app became popular during the pandemic, and his followers quickly grew due to his hilarious videos.
The Senegalese-born creator, who is based in Italy, first gained popularity by using TikTok’s duet and stitch features to react wordlessly to complicated and absurd life hacks.
He now mostly posts silent comedy skits, which have received millions of views and likes. His fan base began to grow rapidly last year, and in recent weeks, fans have launched campaigns to propel him to the top.
Charli on the flip side became the most followed account on the platform in 2019 with her viral dance routines, and by 2020 she had over 100 million fans. She took to the stage at the time to say that the achievement was like a dream come true.
(I can’t believe there are 100 million supporters following me right now,) she said in a video. Oh my goodness, that is insane.
