Gospel musician Kevin Lemons from Atlanta has passed on January 7, according to his representatives from the Higher Calling group.

On his website, Lemons states that he was born and raised in Atlanta, started singing gospel music in 1996, and formed a small gospel group called Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling.

According to the group’s website, Kevin Lemons and the band independently released their debut CD, “Destined for Greatness,” and then their sophomore effort, “The Declaration,” which peaked at number 10 on Billboard’s Gospel Charts.

Recently, Lemons & Higher Calling signed with the record company owned by Hezekiah Walker, another gospel musician.

As the vocal director for 2018’s Come Sunday, Lemon also served as the choir director for How Sweet the Sound and BET’s Sunday Best.

Due to Kevin’s innovative approach to choir music over the past 25 years, he has had numerous opportunities to lead clinics and workshops at various schools, universities, and churches both domestically and abroad. Numerous musicians and producers in the music business have taken an interest in his sound and vocal instruction, which has resulted in countless collaborations, national commercials, and shared stage appearances with people like Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Bebe Winans, Walmart, Donald Lawrence, Metro Boomin, The Stellar Awards, Tamela Mann, Erica Campbell, Kirk Franklin, and many others.
