Kennedy Agyapong, a hopeful flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed his disappointment and frustration with some members of the party whom he accuses of being ungrateful and sabotaging him.
Speaking at a campaign event in the Berekum constituency, Agyapong lamented that individuals who had benefited from his generosity were now turning against him in support of another candidate in the contest.
Expressing his disbelief at their ingratitude, Agyapong highlighted the assistance he had provided to several party members, including campaigning for them, purchasing pickups for their ministerial roles, and lobbying for their positions.
However, he emphasized that despite his contributions, these individuals were now asking him not to mention his support.
Agyapong further revealed that the lack of gratitude extended to other party financiers, recounting the plight of Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh, owner of Labianca company, who had suffered financially despite her significant contributions.
He cited instances where a specific minister’s name caused her distress, reflecting the negative impact of ungratefulness within the party.
With these accounts, Agyapong cautioned the delegates to be mindful of their votes and warned of potential repercussions if they were not treated fairly in the future.
As the NPP moves forward with the flagbearer race, the spotlight remains on the internal dynamics and challenges within the party.
The upcoming super delegates congress and main congress will undoubtedly shape the future direction of the party and its leadership.
