The non-governmental organization One Heart Cares International, which works to enhance the quality of life for renal patients in Ghana, is collaborating with the Kenkey Festival, which is the premier cultural food festival in Ghana.

Also, it is noted that this partnership aims to raise awareness and funds for the fight against kidney disease, a silent killer that affects millions of people worldwide.

An annual celebration of Ghana’s delicious and varied cuisine, the Kenkey Festival centers around the fermented staple dish Kenkey made from corn. Thousands of food enthusiasts attend the festival to take advantage of the many kenkey dishes, live music, cultural displays, and entertaining events.

An additional aspect of this year’s festival’s activities is its humanitarian focus. As a noteworthy initiative, part of the gate earnings from Kenkey Fest 24 will go to the One Heart 4 Dialysis campaign, which offers vital financial assistance to more than 1,195 renal patients in Ghana receiving dialysis treatment.

Nonetheless, One Heart Cares International is a non-governmental organization that was founded in 2011 by Eugene Kwasi Osei, an entrepreneur and philanthropist. The goal of the organization is to reduce poverty, close gaps in healthcare accessibility, and increase literacy rates among the people of Ghana. Our goal is to establish a more just and prosperous society in which each person can live a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.

Meanwhile, and in addition, the One Heart 4 Dialysis campaign is a fundraiser organized by One Heart Cares International to raise Ghs100 million to help Ghanaian renal patients pay for all of their medical needs.

Eugene Kwasi Osei conveyed his appreciation to the Kenkey Festival for selecting One Heart Cares International as a partner. He claims that the collaboration will help with initiatives to raise awareness and provide funding for patients with kidney disease. Additionally, he has also urged and sought support from the public to support the campaign by attending the festival, donating, or volunteering.

On March 9, 2024, at 9:00 AM, Kenkey Fest 24 will take place in Accra’s Efua Sutherland Park. Admission is 10 Ghana cedis.

Meanwhile, the entire festival promises to be a fun-filled and great-flavored event with a noble cause at its heart.
