Kayvon Thibodeaux, an American football outside linebacker with the National Football League’s New York Giants, was born on December 15, 2000. He is a Los Angeles native who was named USA Today’s High School Football Defensive Player of the Year in 2017.

Thibodeaux won the Morris Trophy in 2020 while playing NCAA football at Oregon, was named a unanimous All-American in 2021, and was named Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2019. In the 2022 NFL Draft, the Giants selected him as the fifth overall choice.

Thibodeaux was born in South Los Angeles, California on December 15, 2000. Before transferring to Oaks Christian School in 2017, he spent two years at Susan Miller Dorsey High School, where he played football. During his senior year of high school football in 2018, he had 54 tackles and 18 sacks, earning him the USA Today award for defensive player of the year.

Thibodeaux concluded his high school career with 152 total tackles, 54 sacks, and eight forced fumbles, making him the second-highest-rated overall athlete in the 2019 recruiting class. He chose to accept a scholarship to play NCAA football for the University of Oregon’s Oregon Ducks over multiple other offers.
