Kay Mellor, the creator of the ITV British drama Fat Friends, passed away at the age of 71.
Her production company, Rollen Productions broke the news on Twitter saying,
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely and sudden passing of our beloved friend, mentor, and colleague Kay Mellor on Sunday 15th May 2022. We have lost a phenomenal talent and a true luminary. We ask that you please respect the privacy of the family and friends.”
How many children does Kay Mellor have?
Mellor got pregnant at the age of 16 in 1967. She married the father of the child, Anthony Mellor, who was 17 at the time.
They had two daughters together; television producer Yvonne Francas and actress Gaynor Faye.

She currently lives with her long-term partner Mark Pickering in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with whom she has two children. Their children are Lily Mae and Oliver.
