Olympic gold medalist Katie Archibald has discussed her attempts to revive her riding partner Rab Wardell prior to the mountain biker’s untimely demise on Tuesday morning.

Despite the efforts of Archibald and the paramedics to save Wardell, he passed suddenly after suffering a heart arrest while he was sleeping.
Just a few days prior, the 37-year-old had won the Scottish MTB XC Championships.
The track cyclist for Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, Archibald, remarked on Twitter, “I guess you’ve heard that Rab died yesterday morning.
I still don’t know what occurred; whether this is true; or why he would be taken now when he was so healthy and joyful.
I’m unable to say anything because I can’t stand to discuss him in the past tense. Rab, you are everything to me. I cherish you.
On the penultimate lap of the race, Wardell overcame three punctures to win the elite men’s title at Kirroughtree Forest on Sunday.
