German painter Karl Horst Hödicke, a leading member of the so-called “New Savages” or “Junge Wilde” movement that emerged in opposition to minimal and conceptual art in Germany in the late 1970s, passed away at the age of 85. Hödicke was best known for his Neo-Expressionist paintings.
