Former Ghana international, Mohammed Polo, has thrown his weight behind Karim Zito for the top coaching job of the Black Stars. Polo pointed to Zito’s impressive achievements with Dreams FC in the CAF Confederation Cup as proof of his coaching abilities.

Zito has led Dreams FC to the semifinals of the prestigious continental tournament, with a crucial match against Zamalek coming up on Sunday.

Polo, speaking in an interview with Joy Sports, highlighted the importance of having a coach who can truly elevate a team.

“Our football is going through a rough patch. Everyone thinks they can be a coach, but not everyone has the skills to take a team to the next level,” Polo expressed. “Karim Zito has shown that he has what it takes by guiding Dreams FC to the semifinals of the CAF Confederation Cup, a feat that others have failed to achieve.”

Polo continued by stating that Zito’s track record speaks for itself and that he is ready to step up to the challenge of coaching the Black Stars.

Despite Polo’s endorsement, the Ghana Football Association recently announced Otto Addo as the head coach of the Black Stars for a second time.

It remains to be seen whether Zito will have the opportunity to showcase his coaching abilities at the highest level, but Polo’s endorsement is a strong vote of confidence in his capabilities. Time will tell if Zito will one day lead the Black Stars to glory on the international stage.
