Karen Jones, the mother of Bolton Wanderers defender Gethin Jones, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the age of 56.
Karen had been undergoing treatment and a drug trial in the United States as part of her battle against MND.
She was a much-loved former midwife, mother, and wife of Gareth.
Former Whites’ manager Sam Allardyce led a team of club veterans against Ian Evatt’s current line-up in a special fund-raising event and dinner in November to assist pay for some of the costs and care required.
The club’s response to the Jones family’s appeal was led by club chairman Sharon Brittan.
