Kailia Posey, who played Kailia in Toddlers and Tiaras, died at the age of sixteen.
Marcy Posey Gatterman shared the news on Facebook, writing that she didn’t have the “words or any thoughts” to express her grief.
Toddlers and Tiaras, which followed young children and their parents as they competed in beauty pageants, was the late teen’s most well-known role.
Many people will remember Kailia from a viral gif from the TV show, in which she was caught on camera grinning mischievously at the camera.
In 2019, she recreated the scene on YouTube, giggling while others laughed in the background.
Marcy referred to her then 10-year-old daughter as a “cuddly puppy” and a “spicy little monkey” in an old clip from Toddlers and Tiaras.
She explained that Kailia began competing in pageants when she was three years old, and that while she was nervous at first, she was a ‘pro’ the moment she stepped onto the stage.
