The actress who was best known for her role as Dot Cotton on the BBC soap opera EastEnders was born on February 16, 1927, in Needham Market, the United Kingdom to her parents Henry William Melton Brown, and Louisa Brown.
She was a mother of six children who got married twice to John Garley and Robert Brown.
