Every 4 July is a day to celebrate as America gains its independence. Unfortunately for this year’s celebration, a shooter ruined the peace of the parade.
After several investigations, authorities announced they were seeking a person of interest in the shooting, 21-year-old Robert Crimo. At least six people were killed leaving at least 38 people who were wounded in the shooting.
July 4 shooter charged with first-degree murder
The 21-year-old would be punished “for the killing spree he has unleashed against our community”, Lake County State Attorney Eric Rinehart said.
Crimo is charged with seven counts of first-degree murder, one for each of the seven people that were killed in the July 4 shooting.
Crimo is described to be someone who had earlier planned the attack. He was arrested with a similar gun that was used in the attack.
The family Crimo has given out their heartfelt apology to the bereaved families that have been hurt in the process.
