The country’s deputy secretary of labour, Julie A. Su, a lawyer from the United States born on February 19, 1969, has served in that capacity since 2021. Su was born in Wisconsin and is a first-generation American. Her mother came to the US on a cargo ship from China, while her father is from Taiwan.
