Julie Brett who happened to be the mother of Simon Cowell was reported died of a stroke on July 5, 2015, in London, United Kingdom. She passed away at the age of 89.

Brett was a survivor of breast cancer and was made the honorary president of the charity Against Breast Cancer.

Brett was a Christian, and a former ballet dancer and socialite. She was a mother of five and lost her third child three weeks after birth. She was born Josie Dalglish in 1925, in Birmingham, United Kingdom. She was a ballet dancer and socialite.

Brett was married to her husband Eric Philip Cowell from 1961 to 1998. The couple lived together for 38 years.
