Joshua Ryan Wells (born February 14, 1991) is an American football offensive lineman for the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL). After the 2014 NFL Draft, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was a James Madison University football player.
Wells was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars following the 2014 NFL Draft. On August 30, 2014, he was added to the team’s 53-man roster.
Wells was placed on injured reserve on September 4, 2016, due to a thumb injury. On November 21, 2016, he was activated from the injured reserve to the active roster.
Wells re-signed with the Jaguars on February 17, 2017. In 2017, he appeared in 15 games, starting four at right and left tackle owing to injuries.
Wells has designated the backup left tackle behind Cam Robinson to begin the season in 2018. After Robinson sustained a season-ending torn ACL, he has designated the starter in Week 3. He started the following three games until injuring his groin in Week 5. On October 12, 2018, he was placed on injured reserve. On December 14, 2018, he was activated off injured reserve. On December 28, 2018, he was placed back on injured reserve due to a concussion.
Wells re-signed with the Jaguars on April 2, 2019. On August 30, 2019, he was released as part of the final roster cuts.
