Maria Josefin Asplund is a Swedish actress. She was born on October 15, 1991 in Sweden. Her appearances as Astrid in the television series Vikings on the History Channel and Pernilla Blomkvist in the film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo have brought her recognition from audiences all over the world (2011). She had a starring role in the movie version of the Swedish novel The Circle, which came out in 2015.
At the age of six, Asplund began her acting career at a little theater near to her house. There, she played a variety of roles in a variety of musicals up to the time she was in her teenage years.
