Josefin Asplund is a Swedish actress who was born Maria Josefin Asplund on October 15, 1991. She is most recognized for her roles as Pernilla Blomkvist in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) and Astrid in the television series Vikings, which airs on the History Channel. In the 2015 movie The Circle, which is based on the internationally best-selling Swedish book of the same name, she plays a leading part.
Between the years of 2007 and 2010, Asplund was a student at the Southern Latin secondary school known as Sodra Latins Gymnasium in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2009, she was also a student at the Calle Flygares Teaterskola (commonly known as a stage school).
