Johnny Flaherty Cause of death
In addition to being a member of Offaly’s hurling team of the millenium, Flaherty was voted Offaly Hurler of the Year in 1979 and 1981. In 1981, he was named an All Star at corner forward. After a brief illness, he passed away on Wednesday.
He was inducted into the Offaly GAA Hall of Fame in 2014 and is one of the county’s longest-serving players ever. He also had tremendous success with his club, Kinnitty.
