John R. Cash  was an American country singer-songwriter. Much of Cash’s music, especially in the latter stages of his career, contained themes of sorrow, moral tribulation, and redemption. Cash was born on February 26, 1932, in Kingsland, Arkansas, to Carrie Cloveree  and Ray Cash.

Cash had three older siblings named Roy, Margaret Louise, and Jack, as well as three younger siblings named Reba, Joanne, and Tommy (who also became a successful country artist). Cash was primarily of English and Scottish ancestry. vpaternal grandmother also claimed Cherokee ancestry, but a DNA test of Cash’s daughter Rosanne revealed no known Native American markers.

Cash is one of the most successful musicians of all time, having sold over 90 million records worldwide. Cash’s music spanned genres, including country, rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk, and gospel. Because of his crossover appeal, he was inducted into the Country Music, Rock and Roll, and Gospel Music Halls of Fame. Cash’s music career was portrayed in the 2005 biopic Walk the Line, starring American film actor Joaquin Phoenix.

Johnny had two wives, Vivian Liberto (1954 – 1966) and June Carter Cash (1968 – 2003). Johnny Cash has 5 children namely, John Carter Cash, Rosanne Cash, Kathy Cash, Cindy Cash and Tara Cash.
