John Phillip Stamos, an American actor and singer, was born on August 19, 1963. His contract role as Blackie Parrish on the ABC television soap opera General Hospital is where he first came to public attention. For this character, he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

His work in television is well-known, particularly for his lead part as Jesse Katsopolis on the ABC comedy Full House. Stamos has acted in several TV movies and series since the 1995 series ending. He has served as Project Cuddle’s national spokesman since 2005.

He performed on Broadway in roles such as J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Actually Trying, iGuido Contini in Nine, and The Emcee in Cabaret. On the 2006 charity album Unexpected Dreams – Songs From the Stars, Stamos sang the Billy Joel song “Lullabye (Goodnight, My Darling).”
