John Savident, best known to fans of the UK soap Coronation Street as Fred the butcher, has passed away. He was also known for his performance as Monsieur Firmin in the West End cast of The Phantom of the Opera.
John Savident Cause of death
John Savident passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 86. “He was a much-loved husband and father of two and will be sorely missed by all who knew him,” his rep said in a statement. A cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
However, on December 1, 2000, John Savident was attacked by a man, whom he had met at a local bar in Manchester.

John Savident was born January 21, 1938, in Guernsey, and still lived there at the time of the German occupation of the island in 1940. He and his family escaped to Britain in a fishing boat. During his early years, he was a police officer before turning to acting as his profession.
