John Motson parents: Who are his father and mother?

The voice of English football for more than 50 years has been John Motson, a well-known British football pundit. He was born in Salford, Greater Manchester, on July 10, 1945, and spent his formative years in Lancashire.

When Motson was young, he developed a love for the game and frequently went to see Manchester United games at Old Trafford. Before beginning his media career, he continued his studies at University College, Hull, where he focused on history and French.

Thereafter, he relocated to the BBC, where he worked as a sports reporter until transitioning to commentary on football in 1971. His first significant job was covering the football competition at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany.

With his unique voice and in-depth understanding of the sport, Motson rapidly made a name for himself as one of the top football pundits in the nation. He was renowned for wearing a sheepskin coat that served as his signature during cold-weather contests.

The 1989 Hillsborough tragedy, the 1990 World Cup in Italy, and the 1996 European Championships in England were just a few of the iconic events that Motson covered throughout the years. He also provided commentary for a number of League Cup and FA Cup finals as well as international games.
