Ghanaian politician and actor John Dumelo has finally laid her ‘number one supporter’ and mother to rest, and has received overwhelming support from industry colleagues and top politicians.
The final funeral rite for Mrs. Antoinette Veronica Ama Ampoma Dumelo, mother of John Dumelo, was held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Holy Spirit Cathedral near East Legon Executive Men’s Club in Accra.
The ceremony brought together both friends and political opponents of John Dumelo.
Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, his son Sharaf Mahama, and brother and businessman Ibrahim Mahama, were at the ceremony to comiserate with Dumelo. NDC’s Gizella Tetteh Agbotui, who is the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, was present. Dorcas Affo-Toffey, Member of Parliament for Jomoro constituency and mother of musician Fantana, attended the ceremony. Young politician Emmanuel Kojo Jones-Mensah, who recenty contested for MP for Assin North, showed up.
The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Sammi Awuku, who serves as the Board Chairman of the National Youth Employment Agency, was present. The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, who contested against Dumelo in the last parliamentary election, dropped her political colours and showed up to sympathise with the actor.
For showbiz colleagues, Nana Ama McBrown, Becca, Fred Nuamah, Martha Ankomah, Sonnie Badu, Edem and his wife, Kalsoume Sinare, Selassie Ibrahim, Ama Dhope, and former Miss Ghana Stephanie Karikari, showed up to sympathise with Dumelow.
