John Madden autopsy: What killed John Madden?

John Madden died at the age of 85. While the cause of his death is immediately unknown, he had some health issues. He had an ulcer at his prime.

In 1977, John Madden fought an ulcer for most of the season. The condition reportedly worsened after the Raiders lost to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game.

Madden retired from coaching after the Raiders went 9-7 in 1978 and missed the playoffs. He retired at age 42 and despite receiving many offers, Madden vowed to never come back.

Since his retirement, he never complained about his health in the media space. So, this could not be the reason for his sudden death.

For now, John Madden’s autopsy has not been released by his doctors or family.
