In December 1980, John Lennon passed away, shocking people all around the world. The famous English musical band The Beatles’ former co-leader and guitarist, a singer-songwriter and peace activist, was shot and killed by a fanatic named Mark David Chapman, who is still behind bars today.
His legacy lives on via the artists he has influenced and, of course, his family, even though he passed away on that cold winter day years ago at the age of 40.
John Lennon children: Meet Sean Lennon, Julian Lennon
Julian, 59, and Sean, 46, the musician’s two adult sons, survive him. He welcomed his youngest son with his second wife Yoko Ono, to whom he was wedded up until his murder, and his first son with his ex-wife Cynthia Powell, to whom he was married from 1962 to 1968. In 1969, the two got married and went on to become one of the most well-known couples of all time.
Julian Charles John Lennon, the firstborn child of the late musician John Lennon and Cynthia Powell, was born on April 8, 1963, in Liverpool, England. Given that Julian is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, filmmaker, photographer, novelist, and philanthropist, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.
Sean Taro Ono Lennon, John Lennon’s youngest child and Julian’s half-brother, was born in New York City on October 9, 1975 to parents John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Sean is a multi-instrumentalist who has played the piano, drums, and guitar, just like his well-known father and half-sibling.
