As a member of Depeche Mode, Fletcher was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.

John Fletcher cause of death: What happened to Andrew Fletcher’s father?

John died from an unknown illness.

Fletcher was the eldest of Joy and John Fletcher‘s four children.

The family relocated from Nottingham to Basildon when Fletcher was two years old.

John’s son was a member of the local Boys’ Brigade since he was a child, mostly playing football. In this Christian youth group, he met future Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke, and the two have both recounted in interviews the local missionary work they tried on behalf of the organization to convert non-believers.

He was, however, the only Depeche Mode member who did not sing.

Fletcher’s vocals were frequently mixed very low or audible only through his personal stage speakers, despite the fact that he can be seen singing in videos of Depeche Mode’s earlier live concerts.
