John Amos an American actor best remembered for playing James Evans, Sr., on the CBS television series Good Times, was born on December 27, 1939.
Amos has also appeared on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The West Wing, and in the television series The District as Mayor Ethan Baker of Washington, D.C. In his five-decade career, he has performed on Broadway and in a number of movies.
