Joey Blount parents: Tony Blount, Marie Blount
Joey Blount parents are Tony Blount and Marie Blount. Tony Blount, Joey’s father, played defensive back for Virginia in the 1970s and was selected by the New York Giants in the fifth round of the 1980 NFL Draft.
Even though he only participated in one season of football, Joey was introduced to the sport thanks to Blount’s father’s experience.
When he resided in California, he first played flag football and distinctly recalls the moment when the thought crossed his mind that football was his future.
Blount eventually relocated with his family to Atlanta, Georgia, where he attended Landmark Christian High School and was a quarterback and safety.
Blount like being the quarterback and, as he admitted himself, had a good arm. However, Blount was unable to throw the ball in the same manner after breaking his wrist soon before entering high school.
He was confident that his future was secure.
