Joe Gayton was a well-known film and television writer-producer based in the United States. He was most famous for his involvement in AMC’s “Hell on Wheels”.

According to reports gathered, Joe Gayton died on May 14, 2023, at the age of 66 years old. His brother, Tony Gayton confirmed his passing.

Joe Gayton was a talented writer who wrote one of Hollywood’s biggest movies made,  Uncommon Valor. He wrote the movie when he was 23 years old and this got him big on the movie scene.

Joe Gayton mostly worked with his brother Tony Gayton. The duo had worked together to write and produce the popular Western drama series Hell on Wheels, which ran on AMC for five seasons.

According to reports gathered from his brother, Tony Gayton, Joe Gayton had passed away following a four-year battle with prostate cancer.

Joe Gayton is survived by his wife, Jen Winter, his step-daughter Zoë Winter, his brother Tony Gayton, and his nieces and nephews, Sophia, Ella, and Luke Gayton.
