Joseph Chrest is an American actor and scholar who was born on September 15, 1965. In addition to Ted Wheeler in Stranger Things, he has been in a number of movies and television episodes, including 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street, Oldboy, Lee Daniels’ The Butler, The Perfect Date, and many others. Chrest was born, raised, and attended high school in St. Albans, West Virginia. Additionally, Chrest teaches as an adjunct at Louisiana State University’s College of Music & Dramatic Arts’ School of Theatre. He joined the LSU Swine Palace as a founding member in 1992.
