Jody Kelly was a lecturer who taught English Language at the University of Louisiana for 16 years and changed her career to computer science where worked as a technical writer at IBM, Vignette, and Oriel STAT. Jody taught writing at Austin Community College for eleven years. She published several books, including Feeling Good: Strength Training with Your Significant Elder. Jody wrote two dozen sports- and health-related articles for Austin Fit Magazine.
Jody Kelly died at the age of 85 on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, and before her death, she was widely recognized as the Amazing Race. Her death occurred while in Bemidji, Minnesota, where she was attending a Spanish language immersion camp. In 2010, at the age of 71, she participated in The Amazing Race in Season 16 and teamed up with her granddaughter Shannon Foster. The two contestants made it to the second elimination round.
