Joan Hotchkis is an American actress and author. She has featured in many shows across television and theatre. She died at the age of 95 as a result of congestive heart failure.

Joan Hotchkins was born to Preston Hotchkis and Katherine. She was the last surviving child of the couple until she passed away in September 2022.
Her father Preston Hotchkis was born in Los Angeles and lived there for the majority of his life. In 1916, he earned his degree from UC Berkeley.
After serving in the Navy during World War I, he went to USC to study law. In 1920, he was admitted to the California Bar. He assisted in establishing Pacific Finance Corp and worked as a businessman and attorney.
He got married to Katherine Bixby in 1923, and the pair gained a reputation as influential civic leaders in Los Angeles for many years, overseeing organizations like the California Historical Society and the Metropolitan Water District.
He married Georgina Hicks Mage in 1981 after Katherine passed away in 1979. Hotchkis was a devoted Republican who has known many presidents, including Reagan and Nixon.
