Lagergren is currently married to Pamela Svanberg. The 2010 Landskrona Masters and the 2011 ECCO Spanish Open were won by Lagergren on the Nordic mini-tours.
He qualified for the 2011 Challenge Tour, when he received his playing privileges, and participated in 13 events before receiving his 2012 European Tour playing privileges.
He continued to compete in the Nordic League during this Challenge Tour season when he won the 2011 Nordic Golf League championship.

In his maiden season on the European Tour, the Swedish golfer competed in 17 events and placed 140th in the Race to Dubai. He did, however, keep his 2013 European Tour card thanks to a second solid showing in qualifying. In addition, by winning the 2013 Isaberg Open and Marbella Club Golf Resort, he earned his third victory in the Nordic League.

At the Northern Ireland Open Challenge in 2014, Lagergren achieved his maiden triumph on the Challenge Tour.
Prior to winning his first European Tour championship at the 2018 Rocco Forte Sicilian Open, he finished third in a three-way playoff in the 2017 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
At the Turkish Airlines Open in 2018, he nailed his five-wood second shot with 238 yards left to the hole to record his first albatross on the Tour.
