Jimmy Uguro was a politician from Papua New Guinea. Before his passing, he held the position as Minister of Education. He passed away in Wewak on February 6, 2024.

This morning, while sleeping in a Wewak hotel room, Mr. Uguro passed away. The doctors who treated him concluded that he had suffered a serious heart arrest.
The late Uguro visited the East Sepik Province at the invitation of Richard Maru, the Member of Parliament for Yangoru Saussia and Minister of International Trade and Investment, to facilitate the conversion of Wengei High School to a secondary school.

Uguro graduated from Madang School Teachers Training College in 1995 with a diploma in primary school teaching.
He then graduated from the University of Goroka in 2001 with a degree in teaching, and in 2005, he attended Divine Word University in Madang to earn a master’s degree in the same subject. Before entering politics, Uguro was employed in the public administration of Madang Province.
He joined the National Alliance Party and was elected to the National Parliament in 2017 to represent the Usino-Bundi constituency.
He joined Pangu Pati after serving as Deputy Minister of Mines from June 2019 until December 2020. Uguro was named Minister of Education in December 2020, and he continued to hold that position following the elections of 2022.
