American singer, actress, businessperson, and philanthropist Jessica Ann Simpson was born on July 10, 1980. Simpson obtained a recording deal with Columbia Records when she was seventeen years old after singing in church choirs as a child.

Her first studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999), sold two million copies throughout the nation, and the hit track “I Wanna Love You Forever” was a major success. Simpson’s second studio album, Irresistible (2001), had a more sophisticated approach and was certified gold by the RIAA.
