Gerald Norman Springer (February 13, 1944 – April 27, 2023) was a broadcaster, journalist, actor, producer, lawyer, and politician from the United States. Springer was born in London, England, during World War II to Holocaust survivors and raised in Queens, New York City. He attended Northwestern University School of Law, became a lawyer, and initially became interested in politics by working for Robert F. Kennedy’s campaign in 1968.
