A new album called “This Is Me…Now” will be released, Jennifer Lopez revealed on Friday.
The announcement coincides with the 20th anniversary of “This Is Me…Then,” her third studio album.
Lopez uploaded a video of herself reenacting the album cover for “This Is Me…Then.” She takes off her beanie while the camera focuses on her face, changing the picture to reveal her in different clothing with her hair blowing in the breeze.
“This is me now,” she says.
According to a press release, Lopez’s upcoming album, “This Is Me…Now,” will mark the start of a “new era” for her and feature “confessional songs, reflections on the struggles of her past, and joyous celebrations of love while expressing some of her most personal truths.”
The artist writes and sings about her life and experiences that will resonate with us all in “an emotionally raw and honest project, unlike any she has made before,” according to the press statement, which also hinted at the release of additional intimate works in 2023.
This is Lopez’s first album in eight years since 2014’s “A.K.A.” despite the fact that she has released a number of singles and the “Marry Me” soundtrack thus far this year.
