Jennette Michelle Faye McCurdy 26th June 1992 is an American writer, director, singer, podcaster, and former actress. She starred in the Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly (2007–2012) and reprised the role for a spin-off series Sam & Cat (2013–2014).
McCurdy grew up in Garden Grove, California, in a poor family that belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her mother, Debra McCurdy, homeschooled her and her three older brothers. Mark McCurdy, her biological father, worked two jobs.
Her debut single, “Generation Love”, debuted at number 57 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and peaked at 44. She quit acting in 2017 to pursue a career in writing and directing.
