The Jehovah’s Witnesses have launched their annual regional convention series, aiming to bring hope and inspiration to true Christians in a world filled with negative news on social media.
Being one of the largest convention organizers globally, Jehovah’s Witnesses have put together motivational Bible discourses, drama presentations, and teachings to uplift and encourage the public.
In Kumasi, Ashanti Region, the 2024 convention series, themed “Declare the Good News,” kicked off on the weekend of June 28th at the Asokore Mampong convention grounds.
Kennedy Dawumbu, from the Afrancho English congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, delivered a powerful discourse on why true Christians should not be fearful of bad news, even in the face of various global crises.
“We should not fear bad news because we rely on the Bible. Psalm 112, verses 1-10, provides us with three reasons why we should not be afraid,” Dawumbu emphasized.
The event, which is free to attend, is expected to attract over 450,000 participants across all locations, with sessions conducted in 13 local languages, including English and Ghanaian Sign Language.
French sessions will be held in Accra, Kumasi, and Takoradi, while a Chinese language session is scheduled at the Accra Assembly Hall from July 19-21, 2024.
“These conventions are a highlight for many individuals seeking some good news in their lives. We are delighted to host the program once again in Kumasi,” stated Kwame Antwi Oduro, Ashanti Regional spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses, in an interview with Luv News.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses’ convention series serves as a beacon of hope and positivity for attendees, offering spiritual enlightenment and a sense of community in a world often overshadowed by negative headlines.
