Jeff Pope is a British television producer and screenwriter who co-wrote the films Pierrepoint and The Fattest Man in Britain, as well as the television drama, See No Evil: The Moors Murders, for which he won a BAFTA in 2006.
He is also the Head of Factual Drama at ITV Productions. Pope co-authored the screenplay for the 2018 film Stan & Ollie and wrote the screenplay for the 2022 feature The Lost King.
Pope began his career in journalism as a reporter for the Ealing Gazette. In 1983, he began working for London Weekend Television as a researcher on The Six O’Clock Show. Pope was appointed Head of Factual Drama at LWT in 1996 before transferring to Granada Television in the same position. He eventually moved to ITV as Head of Factual Drama.
