Jeffrey Lane Fortenberry, an American economist and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Nebraska’s 1st congressional district since 2005 was born December 27, 1960. His district is in Lincoln and consist of most of the eastern third of the state outside the immediate Omaha area.
Jeff has a B.A. in economics from Louisiana State University in 1982, a Master’s of Public Policy in 1986 from Georgetown University, and a Master’s of Theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville in 1996
A federal grand jury arraigned Fortenberry on charges of lying to investigators in October 2021. On March 24, 2022, Fortenberry was found guilty of all three counts of concealing information about his foreign campaign contributions and making false statements to investigators.
