Tuesday, March 5, we learned of the death of Jean-Pierre Bourtayre, 82, the composer of hits by Claude François, such as Alexandria Alexandra, and innumerable melodies sung by Eddy Mitchell, Françoise Hardy, France Gall, Richard Anthony, and Jacques Dutronc.
Bourtayre was also an honorary vice-president of Sacem (Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of music).
